The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction?

We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away.
In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there.

We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much it's changed. Silly us! We drove by one and the driveway was so intriguing that we had to stop to look. Well, we walked through and kept saying to each other, this is the perfect house for us, it has everything we've ever wanted (well, except for a lake, which is Jason's ideal setting but it's very close to Lake Allatoona).

Our friends that live there had told us that because houses there aren't selling very well due to the housing market, most builders are taking really low ball offers - especially in the higher end houses. So we decided to make a low offer and see what happens. It makes sense if we can do it, as we'll need a bigger house at some point for all the babies we want (hee hee) and the school district is better there.

I'll keep you posted on what happens. If you'd like to see the house, here's a link to it: http://www.jeremyrutenberg.com/psm/asp/detail.asp?l=2&p=252&o=1

The nice thing about this subdivision is that there are all kinds of price ranges in houses, so for the family that have shown interest in moving down here, there's a place for everyone! You can visit www.SevenHills-Atlanta.com to see the crazy amenities.

In other news, I've been getting lots of cool crazy free stuff lately. I joined this thing called Bzz Agent (www.bzzagent.com) and have been selected for a Max Factor campaign. Basically, then sent me all the stuff in the picture below, along with instructions on how to use it and then coupons to give people I talk to about it.

Once you sign up (free) you get emails about campaigns. If they select you, they send you the product and you use it and tell people about it. I'm VERY excited!

I'm also excited about another free deal with HouseParty.com. Basically, you sign up to host a party at your house if they select you. I've been chosen for two and I'm REALLY excited about the Fisher Price party. Ethan will get 4 big Fisher Price toys, plus they'll also send me 10 other little toys to give out as gifts to my guests (and coupons). I've been to three parties at my girlfriends house and it's been cool to try out stuff and then get a coupon for it. I've come home from them with LOTS of goodies. I'm also doing a HouseParty for a new TNT series, Raising the Bar. I can't wait to see what they send me to give the guest. Plus, I really want to see the pilot episode, which they're sending.

Anyway, I'm posting about these as some of you may be interested in checking out these websites and getting free stuff for yourselves. But that's also been the exciting news around here (for me anyway). Jason loves the fact that I get stuff without having to pay for it too!

Well, this has been a long post (it's what I get for going so long between posts). But we've had so many late nights with parties, the Olympics and back out looking at houses last night.

Love to you all!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...
