Welcome to Fall Y'all

Do you and/or have you started decorating for Fall yet?  I started awhile ago and am still tweaking and adding (we're getting our big pumpkins this weekend) but here is what I have so far....  I bought that big Inspire sign with the intention of putting it in my oldest son's bedroom but decided it would look much better on the built-in's in our formal living room.  But then I couldn't just plop it on the shelf and leave it, oh no, I had to completely re-do the bookshelves themselves.  I had never been very happy with the way they looked (to neat and orderly maybe?) and have been studying every bookshelf I had seen in every picture or house I've come across (copying is seriously the easiest way to decorate your home) so I removed everything and started over from scratch.  I have to say, I'm MUCH happier with the way it looks now.  There is interest and depth where there wasn't before.  I love this pumpkin tealight holder.  I have no intention of

Mid-Fall Break Vacation

Or as I like to call it, our Waste-of-a-summer-vacation-week Break! As much as I love having the boys home and not having to get up at the crack of dawn to get them ready for school, I would much prefer another week during the summer. I think it's far too disruptive to take a week off here and there.  But, since I'm not in charge of the school calendar, we decided to make the most of it!  The first weekend we spent Sunday afternoon up in Walker County at the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Chickamauga.  We tried to watch from the fields below but we waited in a car line for about an hour and didn't move much so decided to turn around and check it out from this vantage point high above.  While it would have been great to see it up close I think with the boys this was a much better option.  It's hard to see but way down there in the middle of the field are soldiers battling it out.  You could see them moving around as well as hear the cannons (and see the
