My Week

Jason left last Saturday (the 4th) for his two week Army Annual Training and we sent him off with a nighttime treat before he left.  I love this photo of my boys, as they all look so happy and the small ones look so grown up - especially Ethan.  We couldn't pry that cup of frozen yogurt away from him!!
And, as usual, when Jason leaves all hell breaks loose.  Tuesday night we were all getting ready for bed and I was getting Ethan and Wyatt out of the bathtub when Wyatt slipped and banged his chin on the edge.  Normally Wyatt gets out first but this time I got Ethan and that just drove him crazy.  He was jumping up and down and as soon as I told him to stop he slipped.  I thought he had just cut his lip or his gums as I only saw blood but then he titled his head up and I saw his chin - too much of the inside of the chin.  I got him dried off, and kept a washcloth to his chin but knew I needed to get him to the ER.  But the last thing I wanted was to lug three kids out to the ER at bedtime.  Luckily my neighbor came over to watch Jack and Ethan.
Surprisingly, Wyatt hardly cried at all.  It took maybe 5 minutes to calm him down after the fall but after that, he didn't cry until the wrapped him up and stuck the needle in him to numb the chin.  I wish I could have photographed him because they wrapped him up in a sheet like a mummy and then taped him down to the bed.  They claimed he couldn't feel anything once they stuck the first needle in there to numb him but every time they stuck the needle in for a stitch he would scream and say "Ow, it hurts."
Two hours, five stitches, a stuffed bumble bee and a popsicle later we were on our way home.  He hasn't fussed at all since but we go in to get the stitches out tomorrow so we'll see how that goes!
Then Wednesday I dragged to lot of them off to Jack's Taekwan-Do ceremony where he graduated to a yellow belt.  I'm so super proud of him and how far he's come.  He really loves this activity and he's pretty good at it.  You see Ethan and Wyatt on the floor here behaving themselves (they each had an electronic toy) but unfortunately that didn't last and before long I was trying to take photos, keep them from yelling and keep them occupied.  We were only there for 30 minutes but it was awful.  I was so happy to leave.
I couldn't get very good photos as I was only using the camera on my phone and I had Ethan and Wyatt pulling on me, but this is Jack getting his belt and certificate.
Here he is the second kid from the right getting his belt tied on.
Then the new yellow belts all bowed (except Jack).
 Then back in line.
He is proud of himself too!
I finally got a picture of him bowing!!
Jason comes home Saturday and I really hope this is a nice, easy week.  But who am I kidding, I have three kids to cart to multiple activities this week and three Willow House events!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
