Out and About in Seattle

Wednesday we spent the afternoon at the Pacific Science Center with Grandma Christy. The boys LOVED it and we had to drag Jack out of there when they closed. Ethan mostly just wanted to crawl around but Jack wanted to do every single station -- and he paid close attention to everything he learned. This is Jack lying in the dinosaurs footprint. This is Jack in the space section. We spent a lot of time in the bug section and he and Grandma had fun walking through the butterfly garden area. Ethan and I stayed out so that he could crawl around as much as possible. Ethan tried to put together a standing bug puzzle. Then he and Jack had fun "playing" chess! I think it ended up as a battle instead, as every piece got knocked down in the process. We spent the most time in the toddler play area. Both boys really enjoyed it in here. Trip to Seattle and Ethan's Birthday

Friday before we left for Seattle we had a playdate with two other mom's with Down syndrome kids in the area. One is a couple months younger than Ethan and the other is about 6 months older. The older one had a brother Jack's age, which makes it fun for him! As you can see, the kids had a blast playing! Saturday was the big trip up to Seattle. We met my mom at the airport and then we all traveled back together. It was so nice to have an extra set of hands as Ethan was very wiggly and I was very uncomfortable in my seat. But it was a successful trip and the boys were very happy to make it to Nana and Granddad's house. We're still trying to get on west coast time but we're having fun. Sunday morning Jack decided to read the paper before breakfast. Then he had fun "making tea" for everyone with Nana's teaset. He asked Nana what kind she wanted and she requested French Vanilla.
