Last Days of Summer Vacation

I'm back...it's been a crazy past few weeks but then what's new. We were dealing with tummy issues for the boys last week and after spending each cleaning up the messes all I could bring myself to do at night was lay on the couch!

On top of that, I've been working out 3 days a week for an hour and a half at a time and that has been wearing me out. Oh, and I've started a new business selling Willow House so my free time has been limited. But I've been enjoying it and a happy mama makes for a happy family!

Now we're enjoying our last day of summer vacation before Jack starts Pre-K tomorrow, which is the equivalent to what kindergarten was for me back in the day. Jack is excited to get back to school and see his friends and learn "big kid stuff," and I'm excited to get our routine started for the school year. Plus Daddy should be home on Thursday and that will help tremendously! I can't believe he's been gone almost two years. It will be wonderful, yet strange, to finally have him home!

The pictures above were of Jack making a fort with some boxes and all the 4th of July decorations. That kid has such a great mind, he really does need to get back into school so they can harness it properly. As much as I tried, I feel like I've failed him as my attention seems to be pulled away by Ethan and Wyatt....who I also feel like I've failed. I guess all mom's feel that they could do better. Maybe once Jason is home....

Oh, did you see all the Legos Jack and Daddy were playing with? Jason has been on a Legos kick lately and they have been having a blast building Star Wars Legos and castle fort Legos.

Don't Ethan and Wyatt look big these days? Ethan really does look like more of a little boy these days and no longer like a little baby. If only he would walk more....I know he can do it but he doesn't yet have the true desire.

Jack has really been into coloring and drawing lately and I swear he is really good! He definitely got all his Daddy's good traits (smart, good memory, drawing ability...). This picture is of me and I had a good laugh as he was drawing it as he made the comment (starting from the legs and working his way up), "and the squishy part in the middle." I resisted the urge to yell out "I just had a baby 3 months ago and I'm working out" before I realized he wasn't talking about my squishy middle, as he then commented "and now the middle..." At that point I really didn't want to know what he was referring to!

I love this photo of the boys. Jack looks so happy! And look at Ethan. I swear he takes in everything Jack does and then copies him. They are such good friends to each other. I can't wait to see how Wyatt will fit in. Well, I guess I know - they will be three little peas in a pod!

Where's Jack?
Peek-A-Boo!
Jack loves when I get these big Willow House boxes as they become great places to play!

Might be time to get Ethan into a sport, what do you think he might like???

The picture below is of some wild turkeys that were wandering around our neighbors back yard the other morning! I told Jack that if Daddy was home we'd be eating turkey for dinner that night!

Ethan has started pulling himself up on all kinds of new things these past couple of days - starting with the wall, and then walking along it. I know that's a good sign that he will start walking one day soon...

While Ethan still occasionally hits Wyatt (normally when I'm feeding Wyatt) they are starting to become good friends. I don't know if you can tell but here Ethan is holding Wyatt's hand. So cute!

But to Ethan, Jack will always be tops!

It's been a long summer and now we are looking forward to a busy, fun fall with having Daddy home, birthdays and a trip to Seattle for my high school reunion.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
