Happy 9th Birthday Jack

Where did the past nine years go? Every year I'm in awe at how much bigger they are and how different our lives are.  I think this is going to be one of Jack's best years yet. I'm really starting to see him coming into his own and I love what a wonderful young man he is growing into.  Dad didn't wrap his gift so this is Jack's reaction to seeing what he got.  A skateboard!  Awesome!  Now, let's try it out.  Check out his moves...  He loves it.  Wyatt wanted in on the action but he knew better and did it on his tummy!  We celebrated his birthday a bit early as Jason and I were traveling on a cruise on his actual birthday but I don't think he minded too much.  Nana and Auntie Jake were here to celebrate and his gift from Nana and Granddad was a Seahawks Lego set. Auntie Jake got him a cool kite like Dad's. Happy Birthday to our sweet, wonderful, awesome skater boy. We love you so much!!

Fall House

I love Fall here in the South.  It means cooler weather (and by cool I mean 70s/80s and no humidity), Jack's lacrosse games (now my favorite sport) and usually evenings by the fireplace in the backyard.  I was so eager for it that I began my Fall decorating on the last day of August.  Now that it's almost October I'll have to get the Halloween decorations out to add to these.  It's so fun to change up the colors a bit here and there and give a room a new look.  The front porch will change as soon as we make the trip up to the Pumpkin Patch to get pumpkins but until then we'll focus on the fall blooms.  My three-tiered plant stand has become my all-time favorite piece on my front porch. It's so easy to change up the look for each season or holiday and you don't even have to plant in it if you don't want (although I do try to plant the bottom bit with seasonal blooms).  My favorite photo bomber!!  Front entry way.  Formal Di

Last Days In Seattle

Jack and Wyatt were enchanted by the family treasure chest of things we each have collected over the years.  One of my favorite views -- the city is so pretty on the edges of the Puget Sound.  Nana and Auntie Jake got the boys hooked on looking for sea glass so we spent some time as a little family looking for sea glass over on Alki Beach in West Seattle.  Even Ethan enjoyed looking for pieces of colored glass.  Our treasures all cleaned and drying.  I think this was the boys favorite activity of all.  Ethan found a fun game of dropping a toy down the gap between the back steps and then climbing down to retrieve it. He spent quite a lot of time doing it.  And Jack enjoyed giving his brothers piggy back rides all around the house in the yard.  Our last night we had all the family over for dinner and Grandma brought the boys a fun excavation toy that kept them busy for quite a long time.  Family Photos We sure enjoyed al

To Grandma's House We Go

When Jason came back into town to finish off our last few days in Seattle with us, we took a day to spend out at Grandma Christy's.  Ethan was all about taking pictures.  Jason and Uncle Spencer were all about shooting guns.  And Wyatt and Jack were all about playing with Daddy's muscle men.  Eventually Jason, Spencer and Jack went off to the gun range to shoot while Christy and I took the little boys down to an English tea shop/store in Sumner for tea before we all met back at the house for dinner.  I think each group had fun in their respective corners. I know that Christy and I really enjoyed our tea date! We always have fun looking at Jason's old pictures whenever we visit Grandma's house but this one really stood out to us as looking so much like Ethan right now. I love seeing the resemblance's of Jason in the boys. And how cute was he here?!?!
