Long Week

Well, I tried to be better at keeping up to date on this blog , but it's been a long week.... Ethan was sick ALL WEEK LONG. I thought it was just a tooth that popped through last weekend, but then he slept ALL DAY on Monday (seriously, he was awake maybe four hours all day). I called the doctor and they said that was often how a body heals from a sickness - to sleep so long. They said if it lasted longer than 48 hours then to bring him in. Well, Tuesday he was much better but then took a turn on Wednesday and was back to sleeping and being listless. So Thursday I got him into the doctors and we are now treating him for an ear infection on pneumonia. She wasn't fully sure of the pneumonia, but thought his symptoms were worse than just an ear infection (his temp was 103.5 and he was having a little trouble with his breathing) and she wanted to be more aggressive with his treatment. And he's been doing so much better since getting the antibiotics. He's still a bit f

Snowy Winter Pics

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I've been dealing with a sick Ethan and it has worn me out! He ran a high fever over the weekend but I attributed it to a new tooth. However, Monday he slept for almost 20 hours so I was a bit concerned. The nurse told me often times after an infection the body heals itself with lots of sleep but as long as he's getting fluids and it doesn't last more than 48 hours it's OK. Well, he was fine yesterday but woke up again this morning with a fever. He didn't sleep as much but wanted to be held ALL DAY LONG! Hopefully tomorrow will be better or we'll be off to see the doctor. Anyway, here are some photos from our big President's Day weekend snowstorm. We got just under 4 inches of snow that luckily only lasted about a day and then melted away. Jason drove home from North Carolina directly through the storms path but luckily made it home without much trouble, it just took him a LONG time to get here. We took a brea

Phoenix Trip

We were lucky enough to be able to take a quick trip down to Phoenix from Seattle to visit Jason's mom, Granny Annie. Even though it was only for a few days, we had so much fun! As you can see from the photos, Jack and Ethan made themselves at home right away and made a mess with all the toys almost instantly! I think the boys liked chasing the cats all over the house best. Jack liked the fact that the cats slept in Granny's bed, which he shared with me while we were there. He got a kick out of thinking they slept with him every night. We took the boys to the zoo and spent the whole morning there. It was a beautiful day and we all were worn out by the end of it. Jack would run up to each exhibit, look in, and then want to head to the next! Luckily he started slowing down toward the end. Jack pulled Ethan around in the wagon for a bit and then he fell fast asleep while Jack went for a ride on the Merry-Go-Round. He loved it! Granny gave Ethan a musical birthday card and h
