Life With Boys

Just a few pictures of life around our house with these crazy boys!! And why can't we have dogs that sit on the couch the correct way??? Amber used to sleep on the arm of the couch when she was a puppy and now Bandit thinks laying on the top of the cushion is the most comfortable. Meanwhile, I have cushions that no longer sit nicely on my furniture.  I love listening and watching Wyatt play by himself, he has such a great imagination. I love how his Angry Birds and army men always end up in the coolest places.  I will definitely miss this one day. We missed having Daddy home for Ethan's birthday but we celebrated with a little cupcake anyway.  And a video call with Nana and Granddad, so we could sing to him as well.  Ethan eats his cupcakes one way and one way only -  From the top down!  Wyatt got a skateboard for Christmas and we took advantage of a sunny day (not very warm but at least we had sun) so he could show me his m

Seven Years

While it's not Ethan's birthday today, it is the last day of his 6th year!! Tomorrow, January 25th, we will celebrate his 7th birthday and I have to say that each year it get's better and better. I love seeing him interact with his brothers and the older he gets the more he wants to be involved with what they do. It's taken a long time to get to this point. He still likes to spend time by himself doing what HE want to do but more and more he wants to join in with everyone else. His baby years were hard on me, I'll be the first to admit. We worked hard with therapies and getting him able to do things typical kids just "did." Seeing him more involved is a huge step for us all. I'm sure spending so much time in the general education class has helped. We were told at his IEP last week that he has certain friends in class that he has to say hello and good-bye to every day and that he plays with them on the playground now too.  Music to a m

New Year, New Look

I always love the start of a new year as it feels like I've got a blank canvas to work from - a fresh start. I'm not big on making New Year's resolutions but I have decided to make a few changes in my life and to be more in the present and to come from a place of yes more.  Life is too short.  This year I also wanted to make a big change to my formal living room space. And I have to tell you, I am more than thrilled with the final result (and it all came from things I had laying around the house - no need to buy anything new - YAY!!  Plus, now I have stuff to donate or sell).  I had a mirror over the fireplace that sometime over the past year developed a crack down the side of the glass. I have not idea how it happened but it took away from the look. So down it came! Sometime over the last year I purchased this big metal wall art from a yard sale with every intention of hanging it up over the doorway in my bathroom (it is a ridiculously large room and that space

Annual New Year's Eve Party

Have we really reached the end of another year??? As usual I took lots of pictures of the party BEFORE it began but none after the guests showed up.  I guess I was just having too much fun!!  Now that the boys are getting older I want it to be more fun for them and get them more involved so they helped me pick out decorations and set things up. This year we got creative and used New Year's hats to hold the chips.  I found this cool tray online for about $7 and got it with the intent of using it to bring drinks and snacks from the kitchen to our outdoor fireplace but it worked great here too!  The boys picked out that BIG New Year's hat for a centerpiece so we used the sideboard for all the party goodies - 2015 glasses, poppers, etc.  Then we got really creative and put glow sticks in some balloons. Unfortunately the balloons were too thick to really get the full look of it and then Bandit decided he didn't like balloons all that well and started barkin
