Fun, Busy Weekend

What a great weekend! Jason is the BEST husband and father and I couldn't have asked for anybody better to share my life with! After having a very tough week with the boys, Jason decided to come home for the weekend to give me a break. It was so helpful to have him here and of course the boys LOVED it. These first few photos are of the boys playing with the boxes I received from a Southern Living party I hosted. I had neatly stacked everything up and put it by the garage door. Well, Jack pulled them out to make a "fun place to play." And sure enough, the boys spent about an hour or two playing over there, making quite the mess. But they had so much fun I couldn't stop them. We had a busy weekend but it was so much more enjoyable having Jason home. We spent the afternoon planting some plants along the hillside in the backyard, starting our backyard beautification project. Jason and Jack planted five lavender bushes along the first bank, which I am going to make

Nesting Instinct???

I now have documented proof that my house gets cleaned every now and then! Actually, I cleaned the house about two weeks ago for a party I had and have managed to keep it clean since. I think it might be my nesting instinct kicking in. I reorganized the pantry a few weeks ago and am in the process of redoing stuff in the kitchen to make it easier to get things and keep clean. We get Ethan's big boy bunkbed delivered this coming weekend and I'm ready to move all the baby stuff into place, although Jason is telling me to just wait until he's home Easter weekend! Let's see if I can hold out. Jason met with the Army neck surgeon PA today and was told that if he wants to continue actively in the military then he's going to have to have surgery for his two bulged discs in his neck. He needs to have two vertebrae in his neck fused together and a disc replaced between two others and put in a titanium plate. This will all take place up at Walter Reed Army Medical Cente

Play Date

Here are a few photos of Ethan playing during his speech therapy session today. He was so cute playing with the beads that I couldn't resist getting a few snaps. Ethan crawled over to Stephaine's bag, pulled the box of beads out and then dragged it over to her, hit the top of it and attempted to say open! It was really cute. Then this afternoon we headed out to a new play place for a playdate with some of our DS friends. This place is called Little Bears Indoor Playground, specially designed for kids with special needs. But it has enough to keep "typical" kids interested too. Jack played hard with Carson while Ethan had fun playing with Addison and Makenna. And of course, us mom's had a great time catching up and visiting. We all really liked this place and the kids had a BLAST! I haven't seen so many smiles or heard so many laughs in a long time. I'm happy this place is close to home, as I fully intend to come back on a regular basis! I truly feel
