Back To Box

We had so much fun at the last box lacrosse game that we got a few more friends and teammates and headed back for another game!  Soaking it all in.  Every time the Swarm make a goal everyone gets up and does a dance. I tried to catch Zac doing it, because he was having the most fun with it. Meeting the mascot.  Up close. More of our friends - what a fun game!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Is it bad that I'm finally posting Valentine's Day pictures on St. Patrick's Day?!?  The boys are almost past the fun and excitement of getting Valentine's goodies. I've slowly been giving them less and less but they are the only reason's I celebrate the holiday so I keep at it.  These two seemed to like it, Ethan not so much! Happy Valentine's Day from our lacrosse loving family to you.

Georgia Swarm Box Lacrosse

On the spur of the moment, during a lacrosse practice at the urging of another mom, we decided to attend a Georgia Swarm Box Lacrosse game. We had been wanting to check one out ever since Jack played box lacrosse over the winter, but sort of forgot about it since it's all the way on the OTHER side of the city. But we were told it was a cowbell giveaway night. All you had to say was cowbell and Jason was in!  We packed up a couple friends and headed over.   The boys loved the cowbells.  And all the action!  It was fun to meet up with other lacrosse friends as well.  It was a high energy night. Lots of music, cheering and mascot meeting!  We won the game in the last few minutes and then got to meet some of the players and get autographs.  The boys all LOVED it! Such a fun experience. We can't wait to go back again!

Special Olympics - Bowling

Ethan participated in the Special Olympics Bowling event through school this year. They started off by walking the halls at school to the cheers of the school, who lined the hallways and held up signs and cheered for them.  Signs for the two Ethan's!  It was so cool to see such great support for the kids from the entire school. And all us moms and dads that were there may or may not have shed a few tears.  The delegation!  Ethan LOVED it and didn't want to stop. I think I may need to sign this boy up for a league.  He got at least one strike and several spares.  Ethan with his best friend Clyde.  Ethan got first place for his lane.  It was fun day. Next up is track and field in April, although I can tell you, running is not his thing so I'm sure he won't have as much fun as bowling. But you never know!

Box Lacrosse

Jack has been playing regular lacrosse for four years now and has been really enjoying it. But this winter we experienced indoor box lacrosse for the first time. Last fall at his first regular lacrosse game, the coaches from the opposing team asked Jack if he wanted to play box with them in the winter. We have played against them for years and they commented on how much they noticed his improvement over the past year. Jack was the only outside person they asked to join their team, which was a thrill for everyone as it really cemented all the extra time and effort he had put in over the summer (lacrosse camps, summer tournaments, clinics, etc.).  The nice thing about box lacrosse is that it's indoors!!  At the last practice before our championship game, the coach told me they would have loved to keep him on their regular lacrosse team, but he understood and appreciated Jack's dedication to his North Paulding Wolfpack team. Now, that's not to say he wouldn'
