Backyard Complete and Broken In

I tried posting ALL my photos of the backyard transformation but it must have been too many, as I couldn't get it to upload.  So I decided that you all probably didn't want to see that much detail anyway!  LOL  We were on vacation in Florida while the finished up the last week of work so we came home to find the yard (almost) done.  It was exciting and so amazing to see such a beautiful yard.  It was way beyond our expectations and we simply LOVE to be outside all the time now.  Before the hill started at the base of the playset and basically went up at a very steep incline.  Now we have about 10 feet of additional yard for the boys to play in.  Perfect as they love to kick the soccer ball and hit the baseballs.  These are the steps on the driveway side of the yard.  At some point we might add a little patio at the top of the steps to the left, since it's such a flat area.  This is the view down the walking path towards the fireplace patio area.  I'm

Summer Family Outing

At the beginning of the year, Jason and I decided that we wanted to get out at least one weekend of the month and do something active with the boys.  It's still a bit hard with Ethan and Wyatt being so young but we've enjoyed our adventures.  Today we took advantage of the cooler weather (upper 70s/low 80s as opposed to mid 80s and humid) to drive up to Amicalola State Park, just outside Ellijay, GA.  This waterfall is the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River.  It was a family event, as we even brought the dogs with us!  We tried to all hike it but Ethan didn't want to cooperate and actually walk, so we took advantage of a trail built with repurposed tire treads and took the little ones in the stroller.  It was so pretty!  Can you see the boys?  One day we'd like to come back and actually hike all the way up it.  Looking down from the halfway point.  Ethan is trying to climb out of my arms here so that he could look at

Spring Catch-Up

It's been so long since I've posted (minus the update I just did on the backyard) that I have to go back and remember what's happened!  I was having computer issues and we finally replaced mine but then it took a long time to get things moved over and updated and photos in place (it imported everything three times).  But I think I'm finally up and ready to go.  Now I just need to get back on schedule with regular posts. I've added a big hydrangea to the front porch (still waiting to plant it in the backyard, I've just been enjoying it out here) but this is basically what my front porch looks like right now.  I've loving all the color and blooms of my yard and can't wait to get my hands on the backyard and add color once I know what area I have to work with.  I've had a lot of fun adding a few plants here and there to all the ones I added last year.  It's fun to pick something new out each year.  I laugh at myself because I remember ba
