No Tricks Just Treats

Getting ready for All Hallows Eve.  Bowl one of three ready for the trick-or-treaters.  Dressed up and ready to open Halloween cards from Nana & Granddad.  Ready for some fun!  We ALWAYS start our Halloween night out at Publix.  They do such a great job of treating the kids to fun and candy.  Jack started off with a little put-put -- his favorite.  Who wants to fish for some candy???  And Daddy is more than happy to help out with a cast or two!  Here we found Ethan's game!  He got both bean bags in the hole, then took his candy from the bucket and managed to get that in the hole too!  Guess we'll be getting a bean bag toss for the backyard now.  Ethan's superpower is to make a hole in one in a single leap!  We are fortunate to have such great friends in the neighborhood.  We always get together for a dinner of mummy dogs before heading out to trick or treat together.  What a good looking group.  I love how our pirate friend

The Apples of My Eye

Every Fall we have a few traditions, pumpkin picking and apple picking up in the mountains.  We've explored many different places and seemed to have finally found our favorites.  Is he praying or is he playing???  This year I thought we would be clever and go pick our apples during the week over our Fall break.  I had a girlfriend from Seattle staying with us for a couple days and I thought she would enjoy seeing more of the area and that we could also avoid the crowds of the weekends. Well, that proved to be a mistake, as the place we normally go to, with play areas and lots of activities for the kids, wasn't open for those events during the week.  So we drove down the road a couple minutes to another apple orchard that was open for picking - but they didn't offer anything else.  We still had fun walking around and finding the right apples to pick.  Ethan was a bit fussy but we still managed to have a good time.  Ethan insisted on throwing whate

Buddy Walk

Sunday, October 6th was the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta's Buddy Walk and it was a perfect fall day.  It was held at the Olympic Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta again this year.  Jack enjoyed getting his picture taken with the Star Wars characters but when the Superhero's showed up Wyatt would only enjoy them from afar - even though he LOVES them.  But the biggest draw was the bounce houses.  Wyatt made it through the maze and down the slide...  ...as did Jack...  ...but Ethan was content just to play in the bottom bouncy area.  In fact, we couldn't get him out of it!  We played for awhile.  Then it was time to line up to walk.  My boys!  This year was great because Ethan was finally able to walk it - in fact we had to run to keep up with him for most of it.  But he crossed the finish line all on his own!  And got his medal.  Then it was back to the play area for more fun.  Wyatt enjoyed
