Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town.

I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know.

These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task.

Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was so proud of himself when he finally made it all the way across without falling (third try).

Monkey bars.
Making it...
...all the way across.
Jumping into the foam pit. I want to join them so badly!
Jack has loved having Aunt Delly here to play with. They have spent a lot of time coloring.

One of Jack's favorite snacks is marshmallows. Here he is stuffing his face with them. Next time we get them, I'm going to play Chubby Bunny with him, since he loves to stuff food into his big cheeks!

Adele has been great working with Ethan on all his therapies. It's so nice for me to have someone else to help out. With it being just me, I feel overwhelmed sometimes that I'm not doing enough practice with him. I try to make playtime work time, but I want him to have a chance to be just a kid and I also need time to get stuff done around the house. I guess I'm like every other parent, feeling guilty that I'm not giving them enough of what they need. By the time Jason comes home, Ethan will be doing most of his therapies in school (they put special needs kids into preschool at 3) and at places like the pool and on horses, so I've only got the next year and a half to really work with him here.

Stanley has been shedding like crazy this summer and I can really see it with all our hardwood, so Jack has been a great help in brushing him regularly. Unfortunately, I'm still having to vacuum almost every day!

We've had a great week so far with Delly and still have 4 days left! Then we'll be packing up and heading to North Carolina to spend a few weeks with Daddy.

We've also enjoyed having our old neighbors Kim, Oskar and Maddy over for dinner and an afternoon at the pool.

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
