Mommy and Daddy's Big Helper

The weather here has been perfect the last couple of days, almost fall-like. Very unusual for August. It's been in the low to mid 80s, no humidity and cool breezes. This is more like September weather than our typical 100 degree humid August days.

After a few quiet weekends, the end of summer had started with a burst of activity. We had a birthday party today for one of Jack's gymnastics friends, we have a BBQ tomorrow, another birthday party next weekend, my birthday, Labor Day weekend, our trip to England and then Jack's birthday. Then a flurry of visitors in October and a week (or two) in Florida in November. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Good thing we decided not to go to Seattle after all.

Jack has become such a big helper for me and Jason. Every time I vacuum clean or do the dishes Jack wants to help. Now he's been busy working in the backyard with Daddy getting it ready for a playset in the next couple of weeks. It's great that he wants to help out so much.

Ethan has been pretty busy himself these past few days. He's now getting up on his hands and knees (with our help) and staying there on his own for a few seconds at a time. It's so heartwarming to see how well he's doing.

Enjoy the photos - I'm working to get some slideshows up, as well.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
