These photos are from a trip to the zoo we took awhile back. The boys loved the petting zoo - especially Ethan.
I just wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude for the special need preschool that is offered to Ethan and how far he has come since starting at age three.
This year started out a bit rocky but I attribute it to his starting at a new school with a new teacher and new therapists after a year and a half of the same ones. But since he's settled in, he's improved greatly.
Just yesterday we had the best conversation. I got him off the bus and asked if he had a good day and he answered yes, as he always does. Then I asked him what did you do today and he responded with puppet. I didn't think anything of it until I opened up his backpack and pulled out puppets that he had made. My smile was enormous because it was truly one of the only times that he gave me an appropriate response to a question. Usually everything is yes or no.
His communication has greatly improved as well as many of his fine and gross motor skills.
We take these things for granted with our typical kids but it's so exciting to have these big "little" moments with our special needs kids.
