Fun In the Sun

We had so much fun playing in the pool while Jason was home. I think we spent almost every afternoon/evening there. The boys loved it and Jack got really good with his swimming. Jack started swimming classes this week and is doing really well. His teacher says that as long as he keeps his face in the water he does great.

Jason took Ethan down the slide once and he didn't really like it, which surprises me, since he LOVES the slide in the park. But I'm sure once he gets used to it, he will love this one too. Next summer will be a whole different story, I'm sure!

One day we took the boys up the street to the beach at Lake Alatoona. Jack wanted to build a sand castle, so he and Daddy built while Ethan and I played in the shade (it was about 100 that day). Hopefully we'll have a boat once Jason's done with his Army training and then we can fully enjoy living so close to a lake. I know Jack keeps asking for one.

Ethan has been doing really well with all his therapies. We started occupational therapy almost 4 weeks ago and each time the therapist comes she comments on how much he's improved during the week. He's now trying to feed himself with his silverware. Not all the time, but every now and then he fusses until he can get the fork or spoon and get it into his mouth. He does a pretty good job. I'm so proud of all the hard work he does and how well he's picking everything up.

On some good news, we got an offer on our old house last week and are hoping to close on it sometime in August (the buyers are closing on their house then). Knock on wood that everything goes according to plan. We're moving out the remaining furniture this weekend and I can't wait to get our dining room table into the formal dinning room - especially since we're having a 4th of July party this weekend and can really use the table!

These are pictures of Ethan "swimming" in the pool. He figured out a the end of Jason's vacation that he could actually move around in the water and not just have to sit in the same spot and splash. Now I just need to find some pool toys for him to play with. Plus, start working on some OT exercises with him. These boys sleep so well when we can burn some extra energy out of them right before bedtime.

Jason is coming home tomorrow for a long weekend and Jack can't wait for the 4th. We've got the house all decorated and big plans for the holiday, starting with a playdate pool party/BBQ tomorrow with the old playgroup. I'll be sure to take lots of photos over the weekend and post them soon. Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
