Busy Week

What a week! Thursday Ethan had a follow up appointment with the pulmonologist and got a clean bill of health!! He said everything looked and sounded just fine so now we only need to see him if a problem develops.

Then Friday Ethan had a regular baby well check with his pediatrician and is weighing in at 18 pounds, 9 ounces and 26 inches long.

After the doctor's appointment we rushed out to a birthday party at the rollar rink. I haven't been in one of those for years but the one by our house offers a time for little ones to either ride their trikes or push toys. A great place for a birthday party!

Then we had to go buy a new TV as our old one (of only 2+ years) died on us. So, in the space of a couple weeks, we've had to replace our camera and our TV - not cheap items. And we're also looking to buy a 8 passenger car sometime after Christmas. Thank goodness we are living debt free - makes it so much easier to deal with these high end replacement items.

Saturday we rushed out to do some errands before our neighbors threw a going away party for Jason that night. They had cooked up a beef brisket and we feasted on that all night (DELICIOUS).

The kids had fun playing and Jack has his first girlfriend, Ainsley, who is 9 months younger and lives behind us. She was infatuated with him.

We got our Christmas tree up today and most of the decorating. We're hosting our playgroup's annual Christmas Party/Cookie Swap on Thursday, so I've been trying to clean and bake and get gifts ready for the kids.

Jack loved helping to decorate and was dancing along to the Christmas music. Ethan had fun watching us, and just as I predicted he would when we got the tree up, has started crawling. Well, all he's doing is getting up on his hands and knees and then pushing himself forward and falling on his belly, but still, I consider that to be crawling. It won't be long before we're chasing him all over the place.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
