Vienna Day 2

Day two was the HOTTEST day in Europe. But it was fantastic because they had public water bottle filling stations all over the city!

We got up and Jason found a great place for breakfast so we just started walking. I loved the architecture and could feel how old these buildings were. Such history!

One of the many streets.

The food was amazing! This was our breakfast that held us over for almost the whole day. The restaurant was very popular and we were very lucky to just walk up and get a seat (most tables were reserved). The funny thing was the reviews for breakfast were great but every other meal there only got so-so reviews.

This is the Kunsthistorisches Museum behind us. We didn't have enough time in Vienna to spend in any museums but if we did, we'd have many to choose from.

We loved all the statues and thought how much the boys would have liked them too.

 Look kids, Parliament!

Jason really loved this building because of all the statues along the top of the building.

 Give me a kiss!

A statue of Mozart in a beautiful garden.

This was after we walked through the shopping district. We loved this old tower.

We were exhausted from all the walking so we needed to stop for a quick drink on our way back to the hotel for a short rest.

I fell in love with the city streets.

Our hotel in Vienna was called Wein & Design and was a wine themed hotel. All the rooms were named after different wines and all the decor was wine themed - including this cool slippers. And don't think these didn't make their way back to Atlanta in my suitcase!

The inside of our hotel room. Very comfortable.

After a bit of a rest we headed back out. I fell in love with these pieces of art outside yet another museum!

This always made me giggle - this was what you looked at when sitting on the potty!

Jason and I really enjoyed evenings of cheese, crackers and wine in our room. So many different choices that we don't get back in the states.

A few photos from our small hotel. These are the stairs.

That circled around the very small one-person elevator.

We found a very cool authentic Austrian restaurant and got to enjoy a lovely meal outside in their courtyard.

So good!

This was the name of our room.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
