The Cornwell Family Vacation - Vienna, Austria Day 1

I have so many photos and memories from our trip to Europe this summer that it's been overwhelming. But I'm ready to take it on and share our incredible trip with you.

For those that don't know, Jason earned his company's awards trip for top sales. This year the company flew us to Prague for four days and we tacked on a couple days in front and behind to do a little exploring on our own. The first two days were spent in Vienna, Austria.

After a long overnight flight we arrived in Amsterdam to make our connection, but due to thunderstorms in Atlanta on the outbound we missed our connecting flight and had to catch the next, which was fine because we would have arrived too early in Vienna for our hotel to be ready. So instead we had a couple hours in the airport lounge to enjoy some food and champagne (and take a little cat nap).

Austria has always been on my bucket list of places to visit (ever since I saw The Sound of Music as a child). And even though Vienna was across the country from Salzburg it was just as beautiful.

We checked into the hotel and then just started walking - so much to see in just a couple days!

Above is the Natural History Museum.

The Kunsthistorisches Museum - the buildings were amazingly beautiful.

Look at the architecture.
We happened to stumble on a Film Festival in the middle of town with all these international food and drink booths. It was the best find since we wanted to be out and about in everything. Jason got some kanagroo (surprisingly delicious) and I got some seafood dish. The weather was pretty hot but luckily we found a table in the shade and some yummy adult beverages.

Jason snapped a photo of me taking a photo of him to post on Facebook.

This was where they had the screen set up to show movies.

After we ate we moved on to check out more of the city.
This was a beautiful park across the street.

This is the Hofburg Imperial Palace. It was the largest palace I had ever seen.

Not long after this we headed back toward the hotel to call it a night. We stopped for a quick drink before we got back to the hotel and I was so tired that I was falling asleep at the table. Jason got quite a kick out of that. But once we got to bed that night I slept for 11 hours. I don't think I've EVER slept that long - at least not since having kids.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
