Woodland Park Zoo

We took a day to visit Woodland Park Zoo with Nana and Grandma. It was a pretty cool day but we were able to see lots of animals.

And the boys loved all the different trees and shrubs and terrain.

This was the funniest thing -- we were looking all over for the chimps when all of a sudden Wyatt yelled out pointing at the moving tarp.  The chimp had been hiding there the whole time and only started moving when the zoo keeper came out with food.

It was a very cool exhibit where we got to walk along the bridge above them, just like being in the trees.
I think the boys liked the Northern Trail exhibit the best because there is nothing like it here at home.  Here you can see a wolf laying down on the ground.
 And bears.
This one walked around and around and around, giving us lots of chances to see him.

Jack took my camera and snapped several of the photos from this section.
And of course, we found a little play area!!

Another fun spot the boys loved was the Penguin Exhibit.

 But who doesn't?
It looks like the penguin swam up to say hi to Ethan!
We stopped at the snack area to use the bathroom and came across this beauty.
 But then...
He started chasing Jack - which freaked everyone out (but was kind of funny).
 Birds.

And then we ended it in the children's play area.
 Amongst the trees.
Ethan loved the slide and did it over and over again.

This was a cool tunnel type play structure.

And a very cool tree!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...
