Headin' Over The Mountains

Our first Friday was a rainy one in Seattle, so we headed over Snoqualmie Pass heading for Yakima.

It was a very cloudy day up in the mountains but I loved the look of the mountain peeking through the clouds.  Unfortunately, once we got into Yakima the weather wasn't much better (typically it's much sunnier and warmer on the eastern part of the mountains in the summertime). But we made the most of it with a stop for lunch in an old train depot. Then it was off to the local museum.
The little ones and I aren't much of museum people (we like to look quickly and keep it moving) but Jack takes after his daddy and Auntie Jake and takes it ALL in.  Needless to say, we didn't spend much time walking around with those two!!
These two have always loved wearing mine and Jason's shoes but this is ridiculous. LOL
 Ethan say's let's go!

Wyatt by the military outfits.  Hmmm, think he may follow in Daddy's footsteps?
We have family (on my mother's side) that founded a town outside of Yakima called Cowiche so we had to stop and take a look at their photos on the wall.
 The Rockett's are representing!

Under the museum is an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, so of course we had to stop and get some ice cream!!
It was a long, but fun day. Ethan was ready for bed with his gorilla.

Wyatt found my old stuffed giraffe's and this one became his favorite to carry around.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
