An Afternoon With The Cornwell's

This is how we've been spending most of our afternoon's these days.  It was a bit cooler when I took these photos, as we've seemed to go straight from Winter to Summer!  Although I've REALLY been enjoying the 80+ days, I kinds of miss my capri's and tee shirts.  But after almost two weeks of the 80s, it does look to cool down to the 70s this next week.  Regardless, we'll be outside enjoying whatever weather we are fortunate enough to get.
You will notice how much Wyatt is like Jack at this age - always wanting to be outside, no matter what the weather is, playing in the dirt with his trucks!  He really enjoys this bit of the backyard, rolling his trucks down the hill.  Hopefully he will get his fill, as we're hoping to get started on having this back terraced area landscaped with a retaining wall, patio and fireplace in the next few weeks.
I can't always get Ethan outside (and sometimes I can't get him to come in!) but when he does go out, he loves to either hit the baseball, kick the soccer ball or just play with the grass.

Jack is usually running all over the place shooting things and playing "Halo."
Ethan has gotten really good at hitting the ball.

 Always in the dirt...
Ethan's other favorite thing to do is walk over to the fence...
 ...and then play there.

Sometimes I come out back and can't find anyone...they are great at hiding in the trees.
And once Wyatt finds Jack, he is usually always right behind him.
 Jack shooting...
 and more shooting.
Wyatt is always climbing around in the backyard - usually looking for Jack.  Yesterday he ended up on the very top terrace, right on the edge.  I didn't have shoes on so I sent Jack up to bring him down.  He picked up Wyatt and then started to run down the hill, or the motion of coming down the hill made him go fast.  Anyway, he got right to the edge of the bottom terrace and fell holding Wyatt.  Wyatt's face hit the ground and cut his forehead and skinned up his wrist.  The poor kid has all kinds of cuts, scrapes and bruises.   I keep telling him to get used to it.
Wyatt shooting with Jack.  When people see him doing this, they generally start laughing, as he really has perfected his shooting stance.
They have so much fun together, for the most part.

I need to find either a soccer team or t-ball team for Ethan to play on.  Not sure how long he would stay interested but he really seems to enjoy it.

Time to get Jack back into baseball too!
Hope you have enjoyed spending an afternoon with us.
GOODBYE!!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
