Pumpkin Patch Adventures

Sunday was the perfect fall day for a trip up to the mountains to pick pumpkins.
I don't think we have ever seen so many pumpkins - or so many BIG pumpkins - in one spot.  There were a lot of people there too!
The weather was perfect (right around 80) and the leaves were beautiful.
The boys had fun picking out just the right pumpkins.

 Look how big these are????

I didn't dress Ethan very well for the pumpkin patch - he was hard to spot with his orange and green stripped shorts!
A rare photo of mom (I'm normally the one taking the photos).
Wyatt didn't know what to do with himself and all those pumpkins.

Getting the boys to sit still at the same time to get a photo is tricky.
Jack wore himself out and wanted to ride before we picked out the pumpkins.

 Then Wyatt wanted in.
Wyatt's new thing is to copy everything everybody else does, so when Jason went to pick up the pumpkin, Wyatt joined in.
 Let's see those muscles, Wyatt!

Look at my wheel barrel of moneys!
 Too cute!
Wyatt wants to push the wheel barrel.
Show us more of your muscles Wyatt.
After we got our pumpkins the boys took a few minutes to cool off in the river before the two hour drive home.
And, of course, it was Wyatt and Jack knee deep in the water and dirt.
 Monkey see - monkey do.

My sensible Ethan just hung out on the banks, staying nice and dry and clean!
We got the pumpkins home and set out by the front door.
We'll carve them eventually but for now they make a nice decoration.
Aren't the blue ones pretty?  Jason overheard someone saying they were imported from Turkey but we're not sure.
Welcome to fall, ya'll!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
