Grandma's Visit & A Trip To Chattanooga, TN

The boys and I loved having Grandma in town for a week.  Someone new to play with is always better than just Mommy!
 They enjoyed puzzles...
 and books....
 and craft time!
We tried to get Ethan and Wyatt involved in making pumpkin people pictures, but they wanted NOTHING to do with it.  Everything went in Wyatt's mouth and Ethan just tossed it all off the table.
So Grandma and Jack had fun with a project for just the two of them.
While they did crafts, I tried to use up more of our apples.  And we all enjoyed apple fritters.  Unfortunately, the recipe only called for one apple...so I still have plenty left.
We then decided to spend our Saturday up in Chattanooga, TN.  It's an easy two hour drive and there is so much to do up there.  We started at the aquarium.
 And the boys loved it!
They have two sides, a river side and an ocean side.  We started off on the ocean side.
The boys got to touch all kinds of sea creatures.

And we enjoyed the butterfly exhibit.

Then it was on to the penguins.  Ethan really seemed to enjoy them.

 Wyatt liked the sharks.
 Jack inside an exhibit.
There was so much to see and Ethan loved walking all over the place.  But he was hard to keep track of so we had to occasionally put him in the stroller, which he did not like.  I love how independent he has become and how mobile - but he doesn't like to hold your hand so it can be tough to keep him in one spot for long!

Then we moved on to the river side.
Jason really liked this side, but we spent so much time on the first side that the boys started to really slow down on this side.
Do you see the big alligator?
Wyatt will show you!

We had a fun day and had hoped to make it over to the Children's Museum but we were too tired after our aquarium adventure.  At least we have something fun to do next time we go up there.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
