Apple Picking

Saturday we took the boys and Jack's friend Hunter up to the mountains to do some apple picking.
It was the perfect Fall day - cool and sunny!
There was so much to do there.  We started off at the children's play area.  Once they made it through the maze they had a big slide area to play on.
Ethan and Wyatt really enjoyed playing in here.
Wyatt wants to know, where did Ethan go?
 So much fun!
Slides, sand, tires to crawl through, over and under.
 Follow the leader.
Wyatt climbing up the ramp to slide down the slide.
Independent Ethan going back to slide some more.
Wyatt fell on the slide at the horse farm where Ethan gets his therapies and has been a bit gun shy of slides since then, so Daddy had to help.
But once he went down and realized he wasn't going to fall he was happy.

 Jack and Hunter playing.
 Hi Mommy!
 Kerplunk!
 Daddy and Ethan (all snuffly).
Look what passed by while the boys were on the go cart track.
Jack way in the back getting some help from Daddy and Wyatt.
There he goes - he finally got the hang of it.
 Check me out, Mommy!
 There goes Hunter.
Ethan waiting at the bottom of the gigantic slide.
Hunter was the first to slide.
 Then came Jack...
 All the way down.
 Another play area.
Everything was Wyatt's size -- we had to drag him out.

 Hunter on the cow.
Ethan did not like the cow, but Jack did.
 Wyatt didn't like it either.
By the time we came back around to this slide there were no other kids there so Ethan and Wyatt took their turns and loved it!

It was a steep hill, but they didn't mind climbing it.
After all that we barely had time to pick apples.  We did spend quite a bit of time picking just the right apples.  Jack and Hunter each had a small bag to fill and then Jason and the little boys filled up a medium size bag.

 Isn't this view beautiful?
The boys had a lot of fun picking the apples and running up and down the rows of trees.
Ethan is doing it the lazy way -- from his stroller!
Wyatt preferred the apples on the ground (so much easier to get) but he eventually got the hang of it.

We had such a fun family day out.  Now I have two bags of apples to find recipes for - YUM!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Last Days of Summer Vacation

I'm back...it's been a crazy past few weeks but then what's new. We were dealing with tummy issues for the boys last week and after spending each cleaning up the messes all I could bring myself to do at night was lay on the couch! On top of that, I've been working out 3 days a week for an hour and a half at a time and that has been wearing me out. Oh, and I've started a new business selling Willow House so my free time has been limited. But I've been enjoying it and a happy mama makes for a happy family! Now we're enjoying our last day of summer vacation before Jack starts Pre-K tomorrow, which is the equivalent to what kindergarten was for me back in the day. Jack is excited to get back to school and see his friends and learn "big kid stuff," and I'm excited to get our routine started for the school year. Plus Daddy should be home on Thursday and that will help tremendously! I can't believe he's been gone almost two years. It wi...

My Week

Jason left last Saturday (the 4th) for his two week Army Annual Training and we sent him off with a nighttime treat before he left.  I love this photo of my boys, as they all look so happy and the small ones look so grown up - especially Ethan.  We couldn't pry that cup of frozen yogurt away from him!!  And, as usual, when Jason leaves all hell breaks loose.  Tuesday night we were all getting ready for bed and I was getting Ethan and Wyatt out of the bathtub when Wyatt slipped and banged his chin on the edge.  Normally Wyatt gets out first but this time I got Ethan and that just drove him crazy.  He was jumping up and down and as soon as I told him to stop he slipped.  I thought he had just cut his lip or his gums as I only saw blood but then he titled his head up and I saw his chin - too much of the inside of the chin.  I got him dried off, and kept a washcloth to his chin but knew I needed to get him to the ER.  But the last th...
