The Boys of Summer

As many of you are aware, Jason did not get transferred into the Wounded Warriors home based unit yet. But we've been told that he will report to Tampa, FL on the 15th of August. Fingers crossed that that date holds true.

So, in the meantime, the boys and I are hanging out and getting ready for school to start. Can't believe that we are only a few short weeks away from the start of school for Jack...

Even though school doesn't start until the 16th of August, we've been spending lots of time at the church/school. A couple weeks ago I started doing aerobics there three times a week for an hour and a half, while the boys play in the childcare area. They all seem to really love it and I get a nice break for myself, which I need. Once school starts, I can just drop Jack off on one side of the church and head to the other to work out - PERFECT!

The other day, I made my way into the kitchen to find that Jack and Ethan had started a band (Jack's words). It was so cute and, as you can see from these photos, Ethan was really getting into it. I think he ended up carrying those drum sticks around the whole house with him - even upstairs to bed for a nap!

I made the mistake of letting Jack outside one evening to play without a shirt. I have no idea what I was thinking (besides the fact that I had two other little ones to keep me busy) as he came inside with over 20 bug bites. Never again. Poor baby was so miserable that night -- and itchy!

Jack is always coming up with good ideas for things to do - and especially ones that Ethan can help with. Here the boys are making a special picture for Daddy for the party for when he comes home. We're always having "parties" around here. Well, we're always planning and making decorations for parties!

It was great to see Ethan doing some more coloring and Jack was so enthusiastic about what he did, too. He's so encouraging!

The beanbag has become a favorite place for Wyatt to sit, so the other day I thought it would be a good place to get some photos of him and Jack couldn't resist joining his brother in the shots. Aren't they getting big?

Ethan could have cared less about the pictures, he had something to watch on TV!!

Jack's big mouth smile has returned...

I love the look on Wyatt's face. He's got a big of a double chin but he does have the same dimple that Jack and Daddy have!

We spent a bit of time outside earlier this week, but with temps in the upper 90s - low 100s, we didn't last long. Jack and Ethan tried to set up the croquet set while I held onto Wyatt in the shade but I think Ethan took off up into the neighbors yard before too long - getting quite dirty...

So inside we went to clean him up - in the bathroom sink!

Then Jack took the camera and took the following photos....

These were only a few of the numerous photos he took. Most were of the same thing, over and over...

Now we're just looking forward to Jason coming home for the weekend to celebrate our 11 year anniversary.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
