Nesting Instinct???

I now have documented proof that my house gets cleaned every now and then! Actually, I cleaned the house about two weeks ago for a party I had and have managed to keep it clean since. I think it might be my nesting instinct kicking in. I reorganized the pantry a few weeks ago and am in the process of redoing stuff in the kitchen to make it easier to get things and keep clean.

We get Ethan's big boy bunkbed delivered this coming weekend and I'm ready to move all the baby stuff into place, although Jason is telling me to just wait until he's home Easter weekend! Let's see if I can hold out.

Jason met with the Army neck surgeon PA today and was told that if he wants to continue actively in the military then he's going to have to have surgery for his two bulged discs in his neck. He needs to have two vertebrae in his neck fused together and a disc replaced between two others and put in a titanium plate. This will all take place up at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. On April 15th he'll meet with the doctors (at Ft. Bragg) to discuss the surgery. Of course, Jason and the doctors want me to be there but with that being little under two weeks until baby Wyatt comes, I'm not sure how I'll wing that....but at that point he'll pick a date for surgery. Of course, he still needs to have some type of surgery for the missing medial meniscus in his knee. Which one will come first is still up in the air. He meets with that doctor on April 2nd. The good news is that with each surgery he should get 30 days medical leave to be at home.

It's been a lot for us to process today.....

The above is a picture of yummy enchiladas I made the other day that nobody would eat. Of course, we go out for Mexican and the boys will eat it no problem, but I make it at home (Jack even helped me and said how yummy it looked) and they won't even take a bite!

Here's Jack painting one of his many masterpieces that are now hung up all over the house. He's been having so much fun painting and I've really enjoyed seeing them on the walls.

These are just some random photos of the boys playing. These ones are of Ethan (and then Jack) dancing to some music I had playing on my computer. The minute the boys here any noise on my computer they come running to see what it is!

I'll keep you posted on news of Jason as we get it.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
