Fun, Busy Weekend

What a great weekend! Jason is the BEST husband and father and I couldn't have asked for anybody better to share my life with! After having a very tough week with the boys, Jason decided to come home for the weekend to give me a break. It was so helpful to have him here and of course the boys LOVED it.

These first few photos are of the boys playing with the boxes I received from a Southern Living party I hosted.

I had neatly stacked everything up and put it by the garage door. Well, Jack pulled them out to make a "fun place to play." And sure enough, the boys spent about an hour or two playing over there, making quite the mess. But they had so much fun I couldn't stop them.

We had a busy weekend but it was so much more enjoyable having Jason home. We spent the afternoon planting some plants along the hillside in the backyard, starting our backyard beautification project. Jason and Jack planted five lavender bushes along the first bank, which I am going to make into a walking path with lots of low growing, fragrant plants (like an English garden). We got two other bushes to plant along the slope to help keep everything in tact (but I can't remember their names).

Jack had so much fun helping Daddy dig the holes and then fill them up! He has gotten to be such a big boy, I can't get over it sometimes.

We also planted a blueberry bush on the hill outside the back door. Our next plans call for planting some apple trees on the level above the the lavender and then grapes on the very top.

We also plan to extend the deck at some point and put an outside fireplace at the end of it. Perfect for enjoying spring and fall evenings!

Ethan's big boy bed was delivered on Saturday and we are very happy with it. It fills up the room pretty well but looks really good. The side by the bathroom door has steps up to the top bunk, which we think will be great for Ethan, instead of a ladder.

The boys had so much fun playing on the bed and Jack kept asking to sleep in there. That night we took a blanked and draped it over the side and made a fort. Of course, now Ethan thinks his bed is a place to play instead of a place to sleep!

Jason has returned to the base and we are settling back into our routine. Luckily Jason will be home for a long Easter weekend, after seeing the knee surgeon on Friday. Let's hope for good news from him!

This week Jack and I will spend some time coloring Easter eggs and getting ready for having Daddy back.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
