Phoenix Trip

We were lucky enough to be able to take a quick trip down to Phoenix from Seattle to visit Jason's mom, Granny Annie. Even though it was only for a few days, we had so much fun! As you can see from the photos, Jack and Ethan made themselves at home right away and made a mess with all the toys almost instantly!

I think the boys liked chasing the cats all over the house best. Jack liked the fact that the cats slept in Granny's bed, which he shared with me while we were there. He got a kick out of thinking they slept with him every night.

We took the boys to the zoo and spent the whole morning there. It was a beautiful day and we all were worn out by the end of it. Jack would run up to each exhibit, look in, and then want to head to the next! Luckily he started slowing down toward the end.

Jack pulled Ethan around in the wagon for a bit and then he fell fast asleep while Jack went for a ride on the Merry-Go-Round.

He loved it!

Granny gave Ethan a musical birthday card and he loved it so much that he kept opening and shutting it over and over to get the music to play!

Jack requested a put-put golf outing and Granny found a place down the street, so we spent a morning playing. Jack got two holes in one! And Ethan enjoyed crawling around the green and checking everything out.

Ethan was particularly taken with this hole. It had a building that played music and he just layed there staring at it. I couldn't get him to leave.

Jack and Ethan also enjoyed spending time with their great-grandma and grandpa. Jack and Grandpa Bill got along especially well!

One of the big highlights was visiting Uncle Robert's firestation and getting a tour. Jack was really shy at first but he warmed up soon enough to go for a ride down the slide and a drive around the building in one of the fire engines!

The slide is a pretty new thing -- I guess coming down the pole at 3am is not always a safe thing! Ethan loved this room as it made a great echo when he SCREAMED at the top of his lungs.

Following the firestation, we headed to a nearby mall that had a two story Merry-Go-Round.

It was a short but fun trip. Now we'll just have to plan a longer stay there, hopefully with Daddy next time.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
