Long Week

Well, I tried to be better at keeping up to date on this blog , but it's been a long week....

Ethan was sick ALL WEEK LONG. I thought it was just a tooth that popped through last weekend, but then he slept ALL DAY on Monday (seriously, he was awake maybe four hours all day). I called the doctor and they said that was often how a body heals from a sickness - to sleep so long. They said if it lasted longer than 48 hours then to bring him in.

Well, Tuesday he was much better but then took a turn on Wednesday and was back to sleeping and being listless. So Thursday I got him into the doctors and we are now treating him for an ear infection on pneumonia. She wasn't fully sure of the pneumonia, but thought his symptoms were worse than just an ear infection (his temp was 103.5 and he was having a little trouble with his breathing) and she wanted to be more aggressive with his treatment. And he's been doing so much better since getting the antibiotics. He's still a bit fussy and sleeps a bit but he's moving around, talking and playing again.

Then we got a surprise visit from Jason Friday night. I think hearing how sick Ethan was made him want to make the long drive home for a short trip to see us all. I know it helped me out to have him here and Ethan LOVED it. He wouldn't leave Jason's side and basically ignored me, which he tends to do when Jason is here.

But now Jason's back in North Carolina, the boys are in bed and I'm finally getting some of these photos posted.

These are more of our snow pictures. They are calling for another chance of snow on Tuesday but then it's supposed to be in the 60s by the weekend. I'm done with winter and have a serious case of Spring Fever so I hope they are right!

Now we're just counting down the weeks until the newest member of our family joins us. Just over 8 weeks to go.....

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
