Hanging in Daytona Beach, Florida

Nana and Granddad arrived at our house in Atlanta on Tuesday night and the boys have been having a blast with them ever since. Nana's iPod Touch has become Jack's favorite toy since there's a game on it that he can play. Now whenever we need a few minutes to relax, he gets to play it and it keeps him quiet. Uh oh, he's already taking after Daddy with the computer games! I shouldn't be surprised, they are two peas in a pod, those too.

Jack started a new tradition with Nana and Granddad -- board games after dinner! I love that it gives me some time to clean the kitchen and get things organized for the next day. We tried putting Ethan in the keeping room to play on his own but he didn't want any part of that. He instantly made a beeline to the dining room to be a part of the games too!

Saturday we drove down to Daytona Beach, FL and today we enjoyed our first full day here. With Hurricane Ida making its way up the Gulf of Mexico we've been experiencing a lot of wind but at least it's been nice and warm (upper 70s/low 80s). We spent the morning in the pool and I couldn't drag the boys out! While we made our way down to the beach first thing, it was just to look at the waves. Hopefully tomorrow we can spend some time in the water and making sand castles.

The boys have been enjoying playing on the porch outside the back of the room, which overlooks the pool. Ethan, especially, has been having fun climbing up and down the step, playing with his reflection in the glass door and watching Jack run around him. It's pretty easy to keep these two occupied!

We're hoping to make it down to the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canveral one of these days. Since we saw the shuttle take off last year while we were here, this seems the perfect trip to go check out all things space!

I'll try and keep this blog updated frequently but all this warm weather has been making me extra sleepy!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back. ...
