I'm updating this while up in North Carolina. I forgot my computer (along with a few other things) at home in my rush to get up here to see Jason, so there are no photos to add. I wanted to do a quick post to let you all know that there won't be much from me in the next few weeks, since I don't have any photos to add. I might post every now and then, though....
We were originally planning on leaving on Monday, August 10th, but since the selling of our house fell through, I no longer need to be home to sign papers on the 14th. So, if I can move a doctor's appointment for Ethan, and keep the dogs at the kennel longer, then we'll probably stay here until the 23rd or 24th.
Jack asked me this morning when we were heading back and then why. When I told him we had to be back for him to start school he told me he didn't want to go to school, let's find a school up here. I have a feeling it will be a long drive back to Atlanta. Ethan fusses every time Daddy leaves his sight!
So far the trip has been great. Apartment living is rough with a loud 18 month old who likes to hear himself make noise, and an almost 4 year old who can't stop jumping, running and screaming in excitement. We've taken our large house for granted, I can see.
Friday Jason and I had a lovely 10 year anniversary (can't believe it's been 10 years!) with a drive up to Raleigh (about an hour North) for dinner. We had hoped to walk around the town a bit, but of course, as soon as we got up there it started pouring down rain (lovely summer pop-up thundershowers the south is famous for). But we found an Irish pub to have dinner, which we have decided is our new tradition, as we went to a Scottish Pub last year for our anniversary dinner too.
Last night we enjoyed an evening at the ballpark with the Fayetteville Swampdogs (college kids playing to get into a AAA league). It was a perfect summer evening game with yummy ball food, a small stadium where Jack could actually see what was going on, and even a jumpy castle for the kids to play in.
Other than that, we're just enjoying military life! I feel like an official militry wife now. I have decal on my car that lets me onto the base and I shopped at the commisary for the first time. Let's see what the next couple of weeks brings us!
