Home From the Beach

What a great weekend we had - and the perfect weather. The hardest part of our trip was the last 15 miles that took us about an hour to get through due to all the cars!!!! Our hotel had four pools, two lazy rivers and a water playground for the kids. Plus it was right on the beach. We got in late Friday so basically only got dinner and beach stuff for the boys. Saturday we spent the morning on the beach teaching Jack how to body surf. He picked it up quick and had the best time -- he even loved it when he had big wipeouts! He cried when we had to leave to go get lunch! But we took a few laps around the lazy river and had a blast.

For lunch we walked around the main boardwalk area and found a burger place. Then we headed to the arcade to play. Lucky for Jack, two different people gave him their stacks of tickets so he was able to get lots of little prizes for playing!

After lunch we headed right back to the beach. Ethan had the best time playing in the sand (and eating it!). He even liked the water, as long as the waves didn't get to be too big. It was so nice to play in warm ocean water (I'm so used to the ocean in November where it's a bit more chilly). Again we had to drag Jack kicking and screaming out of the water for dinner and bed.

Sunday we did another hour on the beach before checking out of the hotel. Then we found a miniture golf course and had a great time playing there before lunch and heading back for home. The big news for the weekend has been the big steps Ethan had made. He is now crawling a lot more on his hands and knees and pulling himself up. I'm so excited to see how well he is doing.

We're down to our last week here in North Carolina with Daddy. It will be hard to leave and strange to be back in our big home. But luckily Jason will be home for Labor Day weekend along with Granny Annie and then Grandma Christy shortly thereafter.

I have almost 300 photos to download once I get home so there will be lots of post of just pictures once I get back into the swing of things!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back. ...
