Busy Weekend!

Whew, what a great weekend we had! We were wondering just how to spend Jason's three day weekend and I think we couldn't have had a better time.

Since we've been here Jack has been wanting to go on eventures (that's how he pronounces it) to look for camels. Well, here in Fayetteville, NC we were able to find him one. Friday we drove out to Jambbas Ranch, which is a working ranch/natural zoo where you can pet and feed animals. We think they take in rescue animals, because some were a bit mangy. Anyway, we got to feed a bear (no touching that one!!), goats, an ostrich, llamba's, deer, turtles, elk, buffalo, and even a camel! I've never been so close to so many different animals. We had the best time there. Ethan got a bit freaked out because the goats saw our bucket of food and basically surrounded us (they were roaming free) looking for food. It was too close for Ethan. I got bit by a fireant and have been dealing with a swollen foot ever since, although it's finally getting better now.

We had near 100 degree weather all weekend so we decided it might be fun to head out to the North Carolina beach on Saturday for the day, just to get us excited for our weekend trip to Myrtle Beach, SC next weekend. It was a perfect summer day and we had so much fun playing in the sand and surf. We had lunch outside on the inlet side before walking to the beach. We played for a few hours and wore everyone out. Jason and I came home with a bit of a sunburn. We found out after we got back to Fayetteville that some friends of ours (old neighbors) are at a house there on the beach. It would have been so much fun to see them. We thought we might go back out there today but we were so exhausted from playing there yesterday (sunburns take a lot out of you) coupled with the fact that we'll be at the beach again next weekend, that we decided not to go. Oh well... One of these days we'd like to rent a house on the beach for the a week.

Oh, we got some good news last Thursday. We got another offer on our house!! They are paying in cash and are first time home buyers who don't have to sell a house so this one should actually go through. We're hoping to close this coming weekend or next!! So happy that the house didn't sit for months. Fingers crossed this time works out!

More later....

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
