Memorial Day Weekend

What a great weekend it's been, and we still have all day on Tuesday with Jason home! I hope you've all enjoyed a lovely weekend, too.

These are a few pictures of Ethan doing his speech therapy, and Jack helping. Jack loves helping because Miss Stephanie always brings fun toys for Ethan to play with that Jack get's to play with when Ethan is done.

I especially love the shirt that Ethan is wearing. It says, "I drive my mom bananas!" And boy is that true on many days. Being a single mom is tough sometimes and I'm not looking forward to Jason heading up to Ft. Bragg at the end of June. Oh well, we'll solider through it.

We went to look for a projector for our theater room on Friday and the store we went to had these blow up aliens that Jack was having a blast playing with. When we left they let Jack take one home with him and he's been dragging him around with him everywhere since. He even sleeps in bed with him!

Saturday we had a birthday party to attend for MaKenna, Ethan and Jack's friend. There were lots of kids Jack's age and once he warmed up he had a lot of fun playing with them.

They had a pinata for the kids, which they each got to pull strings until it broke (with the help of an adult) and then collect all the candy. Luckily there were lots of lollipops in there, as that's about the only candy that Jack will eat. And since he doesn't like cake, he enjoyed a sucker while the rest of us ate cake.

Jack showing off his green tongue from his sucker, while Ethan enjoyed his cake and ice cream. That kid can eat!

Sunday the weather was warm so we headed down to the pool for opening weekend. It was a bit chilly when you first got in, but not so bad once you got used to it. Jack and Daddy had a blast while me and Ethan just got our feet wet. Ethan didn't like the cold at all but we couldn't drag out, as usual. I see a long, fun summer ahead of us - but lots of fights to go home!!

We headed back out to the pool this afternoon and while it was warmer today than yesterday, Ethan still didn't like the water. I remember it taking him a long time last summer to get used to it but then loving it. Now we're about to sit down and enjoy some ribs and coleslaw.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
