Cruisin' With Our Favorite Couple, Part 1

It's so hard to travel with friends when you live across the country from each other and one set has kids that are graduated from high school and the other have young kids in elementary school but we did it. We planned a great cruise out of Los Angeles to Mexico.

After spending a week in Seattle getting the boys settled in with their grandparents, off I flew with Bill and Janine to Los Angeles, where we met up with Jason, who flew in from Atlanta. Whew, we were ready for a week without kids and no stress!

We had one day and one night in Long Beach, where we enjoyed some fantastic food (best Mexican ever!), fun sightseeing and even passed by a couple movie shoots!!

The weather was perfect so we strolled around by the water.

Caught a view of The Queen Mary.

 Enjoyed looking at some yachts.

And took a water taxi around the bay area.

Traveling with this group is nothing short of non-stop fun!

 We really love these two!
Here we are in line to board the ship.

And we can never be too serious!

After checking out a bit of the ship and seeing our rooms, we headed to the top back of the ship and the adult's only Serenity area for the sail away. We got our drink of the day and settled into the lounge chairs.

The waterslide that no one took advantage of. I guess if we had kids we might have...

 Sailing away...

These lounges were the best. I think the sun and alcohol had me very relaxed. Definitely needed this cruise time with these people.

We just can't ever be too serious.

It was so relaxing back there!

This was our first of two formal nights on the ship.

Finally a serious photo!

Good times, good food, good friends!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
