We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.

We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.

See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.

Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.

Photos of the boys up top.

Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to explore around the amphitheater. And yes, we climbed up all those steps.

Jason with Ethan on his shoulders part of the way too!

 It was absolutely stunning here!

I would LOVE to come back and enjoy a concert...

Our nighttime game was a disaster. The boys had a hard time with the air, the reffing seemed to be a little off and we soon realized that how we play lacrosse in the south is very different from how they play lacrosse in everywhere else. We need to toughen it up down here for sure!

I had to snap a photo of this two story pizza truck in they had in the vendor area. They made the pizza's up top and sold them down below. It was so cool.

Sunday we celebrated Father's Day on the lacrosse field.

We all enjoyed this Denver ref sporting his cowboy hat!

 The team...

 The team with their dads.

We were done early on Sunday so we hopped in the car and drove up to Boulder to explore and have some lunch. It was a bit drizzly but nothing we couldn't deal with. It was a very cute town and being from Seattle, Jason and I loved being up in the mountains.

Ethan really loved all the statues of animals throughout the downtown area.

His favorite part of the day was finding this little park of animals and then copying their poses. He did every animal several times.

When you don't have any tv's to watch in the car you actually have to look out the window.
And realize you enjoy it!

We drove up the mountains a ways and followed along this river!

 It was so beautiful!!

We had almost all day on Monday as well so we found a candy factory and went through their tour, which we all really enjoyed.

Especially Ethan!

We drove into downtown Denver but there wasn't really too much to see so we found a park to hang out in until it was time to head to the airport. Ethan was having a rough time but Jack and Wyatt loved the big trees to climb!!

Can you find Jack up there?

 And Wyatt?

This was probably one of my favorite trips. And the good news is that Jack is on the same team for next summer, so hopefully we can do it again next summer!!

I really enjoyed the Red Rocks and the pictures in Boulder where Ethan was coping the poses of the animal statues! And also the Denver referee with the cowboy hat! 🤠

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

My Week

Jason left last Saturday (the 4th) for his two week Army Annual Training and we sent him off with a nighttime treat before he left.  I love this photo of my boys, as they all look so happy and the small ones look so grown up - especially Ethan.  We couldn't pry that cup of frozen yogurt away from him!!  And, as usual, when Jason leaves all hell breaks loose.  Tuesday night we were all getting ready for bed and I was getting Ethan and Wyatt out of the bathtub when Wyatt slipped and banged his chin on the edge.  Normally Wyatt gets out first but this time I got Ethan and that just drove him crazy.  He was jumping up and down and as soon as I told him to stop he slipped.  I thought he had just cut his lip or his gums as I only saw blood but then he titled his head up and I saw his chin - too much of the inside of the chin.  I got him dried off, and kept a washcloth to his chin but knew I needed to get him to the ER.  But the last th...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
