Spring Break - Jamestown, VA

Last week was our Spring Break and Wyatt had been begging to have his birthday at The Great Wolf Lodge. Since his birthday is at the end of April I thought we could celebrate it early with a trip to the GWL for our vacation. Plus, I have been dying to get the boys up to Colonial Williamsburg, VA for ages. So we combined both, since there is a GWL there.

Thanks to Nana and Granddad for sharing their timeshare points to get us rooms. The boys LOVED this room with bunkbeds, separated from the rest of the room.

Jack and Wyatt switched off sleeping in the top bunk.

And Ethan enjoyed the bed right next to them.

Since Jason and I can only handle the water park in short sessions we got out and enjoyed the many historical places in the area. The weather wasn't the best (very cold for this time of year) but we made the best of it. First stop, Jamestown!

Jason and Jack could have spent ALL DAY in the museum reading every single word, but Wyatt and Ethan were more interested in seeing the outside exhibits.

This is from inside the old fort.

There was so much to see and touch.

They even got to try on stuff.

Ethan was thrilled to be able to chase a bird of some sort!

Then we headed down to the ships.

 Ahoy matey!

Then back up and through the Indian settlement. Very different.

They each got a chance to grind corn.

 And check out the hides.

Then a quick drive through Williamsburg on our way back to the GWL for the afternoon.

 So pretty!

Here the boys each tried out the wave ride.

 First up, Wyatt.

 He did REALLY well.

 Then Jack.

Not only can he skateboard but he's also a surfer dude!

 Last up was Jason.

Ethan and I enjoyed taking some selfies while we waited for the boys.

We were in earlier but got out for dinner and didn't want to get back in afterward. So we came to take some photos.

I tried to get some photos of them coming out of the tunnel but they were too fast!

Wyatt rode this ride a couple times earlier in the day, but technically he wasn't tall enough and Daddy could only sneak him on a couple times. But this was the ride he desperately wanted to ride so good ol' dad to the rescue. But at night he just had to watch and wait.

While we did have fun, we have decided that the GWL in Ohio is our favorite and the North Carolina one is better than the Williamsburg one. This one was a hair smaller but did offer some good rides. They are all just a bit different from each other and, unfortunately, we were spoiled with our first experience in Ohio. Maybe one day we'll make it back up there.

While we all had fun, Jason and I decided it will be quite awhile before we go back - it's just too much to do too often! But I love that this little wolf had so much fun!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
