I loved how the kids would just find stuff to do. Kellie came very well prepared with lots of toys and games and it help - not once did we hear "I'm bored." Music to a mother's ears!!
One of the greatest things about this island were all the deer that were roaming around everywhere. They could have cared less about people getting up close to them, they just sat there and ate! The kids would shout "deer" every time we passed any and then started naming them all.
There really was a lot to do with the kids. We found this great park that had a younger kid section on one side of a basketball court and field, and an older section on the other side. We spent quite a bit of time playing here on our second day.
This was on the older side and Ryder and Wyatt had a lot of fun on this big slide!
Back to the house for lunch then we packed up to spend the afternoon on the beach.
The kids had a blast going between playing in the sand...
To the water...and back.
There were lots of tide pools in the afternoon that the little ones enjoyed.
Even Ethan enjoyed the water. It was too cold for me and Kellie but the kids splashed for hours.
And boogie boarding.
Surfs up, dude!
Ethan can amuse himself for quite some time with just a beach towel (he likes to hide under it).
I loved all the coastal houses. It was so nice to visit a beach that didn't have high rise condo's stretching from one end to the other.
Ethan also had the best time chasing after the birds and "shooing" them away. He ran up and down the beach for a long time chasing the birds.
Pure joy!
Ryder and Wyatt enjoyed playing army in the sand with logs to hide behind. No wonder, they both have Army dads!
Anything can become a gun.
And the art of "dying" is perfected only by a few good men.
Everyone played well together.
And loved our nightly visits to the ice cream shop!
Jack did NOT want his picture taken - little stinker!
When we got back home to enjoy the evening on the back deck and yard, we had a visitor.
Then he and his companion went off to the gold course (I couldn't snap fast enough to get them all together) but the look on Jack's face tells you how happy they were to have the deer in the backyard.
