The Boy's First Ferry Boat Ride

The boys were very excited to take their first ferry boat ride!!  Having grown up in Washington State, this was something I did all the time, but it was so exciting to share it with the boys.  And they were lucky to get to experience it with Nana, Auntie Jake and Uncle Jason too!
As you can see, Ethan had a lot of fun running and jumping all over the deck.

Wyatt was a little overwhelmed by the size and noise but eventually warmed up to it.
 Bye-bye Seattle.
 Ethan had no fear.

OK, everyone look up (Uncle Jason's awesome funny faces version of a picture).
 Hello Bainbridge Island.
Wouldn't you love to live here?
First stop was the Native Indian Museum. Jack and Auntie Jake really liked it inside but the little ones got restless. Luckily there was a cool little trail to follow outside that they could explore.

Next stop was the site of Chief Seattle's grave.

The boys really seemed to enjoy this stop.
Next stop was Port Gamble on the Kitsap Peninsula. This was a cute little town with old houses and cute shops.

 Right on the water.

Looking up the street from the water.
The old-fashion General Store (I could spend lots of time in here if I didn't have little kids!!).

Then back to the ferry with a stop for lunch first.  Photo courtesy of Jack.

Back in line at the ferry terminal for our ride back to Seattle.
You just can't beat this view of the city. I feel very fortunate to have grown up in such a pretty city (when the sun is out) right on the water.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
