Downtown Seattle

One day we took a trip in to Seattle to check a couple things off our "Seattle Bucket List."
First, we took the light rail from Beacon Hill into the City (Jack really wanted to ride the train).
Then we walked up to the Columbia Tower, which is the tallest building in Seattle, to have a coffee at Starbucks at the top (I really wanted to do this one).
However, I must have misread the info. Starbucks is only half way up, which still gives you a great view, but the observation deck at the very top is something you have to pay for (which was not true when I lived here). Sorry but I'm not spending $12 per person to look out over the city, I don't care how great the view is.
We were able to kind of peek so I was happy with that.

So back down to the near bottom we went and out onto the patio to run around and finish our coffee's.
Jack loved giving his brother's piggy back rides.
Then we all waved to Auntie Jake at her office in the building across the street before heading off to get a bite to eat.
While we were eating Auntie Jake called us and we were able to meet up for a few minutes before we headed home and she went back to work.
Just enough time to explore the water feature.
We couldn't figure out why Ethan was holding his ears but I really love this photo!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...
