The Days Before Christmas

 Life with boys...
Love when they play nicely together.
Got the treats ready for the school bus drivers!!
And a fun treat for Jack's class party.
This is how you play when you are a 3 year old boy!
 Zombies on an alligator!
 Cheese!
The week before Christmas was spent dealing with the flu. It started with Jason, who then snuggled with Wyatt, who then snuggled with me. Wyatt went to the doctor and got on medicine (and Jack and Ethan got preventative meds to keep them from getting it) but Jason and I suffered. It knocked us both out (although luckily at different times) and we each spent two days flat out in bed, unable to do ANYTHING. I resigned myself to the fact that the things I wanted to do before Christmas was not going to happen and just sat back an enjoyed what we could do.
By Monday night we all had cabin fever so we packed up the car and headed north to Cartersville to drive through some Christmas lights and then get out and walk through to the petting zoo.
It was cold and muddy (it had rained ALL DAY the day before) but we had fun.  Here we're saying hello to the reindeer before they get ready to fly Santa around.
 Two wise men...
...and a Mommy, since Wyatt didn't want to participate.
 Ethan really enjoyed the goats!

How ya doing goat, say hello to ya mother for me!
This is a joke from Mark Walburg that Jason loves to say.

Not quite sure why, but there is a pumpkin here, not really Christmas'y but cute.
Christmas Eve was very casual. I spent the morning making the labor and time intensive Christmas sweet rolls that my grandmother used to make.  Then we just hung out and watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation until bedtime.
Then it was time to leave out cookies for Santa.

And sprinkle reindeer food on the lawn.
It has sprinkles in it to help show them where to land.
 Drop off the cookies...
...and then climb up to bed, where hopefully visions of sugar plums dance in their heads and they fall asleep quickly!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...
