Little Getaway For Mom

As some of you may know, I was able to slip away for five days for a little girl's trip with my girls from Seattle.  It was such a nice break to have some time just for me and to share it with these lovely ladies was just icing on the cake!!

They all flew down from Seattle while I flew from Atlanta and we met up at the Los Angeles airport to start our cruise.
I don't have a lot of photos, as Michelle quickly became our resident photographer. I'm still trying to work out how to download them from Shutterfly onto my computer to use but until then I'll share the few I have.
It was so much fun to be silly, stay up late, giggle, share and be together. We headed out to Catalina Island, CA and then down to Ensenada, Mexico (my first time to Mexico believe it or not).
It's crazy to think that we've all been friends since middle and high school.
Michelle and I were even roommates after college for a year.
We stopped at this cool former casino in Mexico and enjoyed margaritas (this place claims to be the birthplace of the margarita) - YUMMY!
 Cheers to my best girlfriends!!
We all got comfy slipper socks from Coleen and I loved the idea of taking a photo of our feet in our socks by the water. It was difficult to get five of us in the photo with the water in the background but we sure had fun getting the right pose!!

We ate so much food on board and it was so delicious. Here we are enjoying tea time!!
It was so relaxing and enjoyable, I can't wait to cruise again and I can't wait to get back to Seattle soon to visit.
The cruise ship takes LOTS of formal pictures and for the most part we passed on purchasing any of them but this one was so good that I couldn't resist.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...
