Grandma Alice's 99th Birthday Party

One of the reason's I came up to visit with the boys was because my maternal grandmother celebrated her 99th birthday on July 3rd.  We had originally planned to travel next year for her 100th but I decided I didn't want to wait another year, as it had been almost two years since we had been back already.  It was a nice excuse to get together with the family and meet all my cousin's new (to us) babies!!

Jack loved having older cousins to play with.
And, of course, Wyatt just wanted to follow along where ever Jack went.
Ethan was more content to sit with Nana and play.
My cousin, cousin-in-law and their kids.
Wyatt wants to know, what's going on up there?
 Here comes the birthday girl!
We were set up in the little park that is part of her nursing home and it was such a lovely day for an outdoor party.
We got her all set up by her cake...
And got her ready to visit with the family.

The great-grandchildren.
 Up close with the babies.
Grandma Alice just giggled when she touched the newborn - she loves the babies!!
The remaining children (minus Kathryn who was back East with Kristin and her new babies).

Saying hi to Wyatt and Ethan.  Ethan really enjoyed his time with Grandma Alice and kept giving her loves.
 The grandchildren.
Did someone say cake?  Ethan wouldn't eat any lunch but you could sure bet that he dove right into the cake when he saw it.  In fact, he dug into mine, as well.
Granddad trying to stay cool in the shade.
Wyatt found a cool tunnel in the garden and couldn't stay away.
At one point it was like playing follow the leader with all the little ones following behind the big ones.
 Kolston and Ethan playing together.
I love seeing my boys playing together!!
It was such a great day and we enjoyed seeing all our family and catching up with everyone.  It's hard being away from family but it's so nice to visit.  And I love that my boys feel right at home with their family too!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...
