Fouth of July Celebration

We always have so much fun celebration the 4th of July and decorating for the holiday is just as much fun for Jack and I.
We got creative this year in where to put things.  I loved Jack's idea for these star necklaces.  Hmmm, maybe he'll take over my Willow House business one of these days!
I really didn't want to change up my door bucket display, so instead I just popped in a red, white and blue star.  A lot less work and yet still patriotic!
With three little boys, I've changed up a lot of my holiday decorating to be more simple.  Instead of big elaborate displays, I simply add a few pieces to existing displays.
I love the cloche and it was so simple to just add the wire stars inside.
What's a party without food and drink?!?!  We had a yummy sangria and a fizzy red, white and blue lemonade - both were perfect for the hot day.
How cute are these little eagles that my neighbor made?  Love it!
Another simple decorating tip ... I filled my small vase with glow sticks.  When it got dark, all I had to was snap them on and they added a pretty glow to the table.
And a vase is never just for flowers.  I've used this piece as a frame and to hold marshmallows for our s'mores night but it also makes a pretty ice bucket.
Alright, enough on the decor and food, let's get this party started!
Ethan has always loved the 4th of July with the booms, the sparkles and the explosions.  This year was a big tougher as he really wanted to be down in the middle of things.
It's hard to see, but we always start the party off with color smoke bombs, parachutes and streamers.  The kids LOVE it.
Wyatt was not so sure of the fireworks.  He was inside a lot but when he was outside, he kept his fingers firmly planted in his ears.
We had a pretty big crowd this year and our motto is, the more the merrier.
There was not a bad spot in the house.
Do you see Ethan making his way down closer to the action?  Little stinker!
We had great weather this year (it rained before the party so we didn't have to worry so much about setting anything on fire but stopped before any of the guests arrived) and such a super fun evening.  Looking forward to next year!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
