Spring Catch-Up

It's been so long since I've posted (minus the update I just did on the backyard) that I have to go back and remember what's happened!  I was having computer issues and we finally replaced mine but then it took a long time to get things moved over and updated and photos in place (it imported everything three times).  But I think I'm finally up and ready to go.  Now I just need to get back on schedule with regular posts.

I've added a big hydrangea to the front porch (still waiting to plant it in the backyard, I've just been enjoying it out here) but this is basically what my front porch looks like right now.  I've loving all the color and blooms of my yard and can't wait to get my hands on the backyard and add color once I know what area I have to work with.
I've had a lot of fun adding a few plants here and there to all the ones I added last year.  It's fun to pick something new out each year.  I laugh at myself because I remember back to Jason's and my first house and ALL the plants that were in that yard and how much I HATED yard work.  Now I have so much fun with it.  Granted, I don't have to do much weeding here, which really helps.  But I think Mom always told me one day I would enjoy it.
So now I just get out and trim and prune and let nature take care of the rest.

I still can't believe Wyatt is two years old.  Not sure if it's because it feels like we just brought him home from the hospital or because he acts so much older than he is.  Ha ha!
He's a little mini-Jason and so much of a troublemaker but I just love that kid to pieces!
The boys always enjoy each others birthday's - probably because they are so good about sharing their toys with each other that they can't yet determine who's birthday we're celebrating!!

Wyatt is really into trucks and tractors right now so he got a lot of those for presents.

Opening gifts is a group effort around here!

This one was too awkward to wrap so we just hid it in the kitchen and made him come around the counters to find it.

 I think they like it.

 Now it's time for cake!!!

 This is Wyatt saying "cheese."

 "Happy Birthday to you...."

My two cakes eaters!  Well, technically I think Wyatt just ate the frosting.
He's just too stinkin' cute for his own good!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
