Labor Day Weekend

We spent Labor Day weekend with our friends in Hilton Head, SC and enjoyed a lovely beach stay.
Jack was so excited the first night that he woke up every two hours on the half hour like clockwork asking if it was time to get up!  Maybe that's why I came home from the vacation so tired.
Jack loved having Myleigh and Melania to play in the water with -- and we could barely keep them out of it.
Ethan and Wyatt were more content to just play in the sand and occasionally let the water run up to their knees.

It was quite a bit of stuff to haul across the street from the condo to the beach but at least it wasn't a long walk.
One day for lunch we ventured out to The Salty Dog and found these parrots for the kids to enjoy.

Wyatt has some big shoes to fill ... but he's trying his best to do just that.

I say it often, and it really is true, his cuteness is his saving grace!

Jason spent a weekend playing with his new tree stand to get himself ready for deer hunting season with his bow and arrow.  Jack loved watching him, until he got bit by fireants.  Poor kid came running down off the hill onto the back deck fast as a flash screaming the whole way.  Then he woke up the next day covered from head to toe in red itchy bumps.  We took him to an after hours clinic only to find out he had a bad allergic reaction to the bugs AND strep throat.  He never complained of a sore throat or had a fever, but Ethan and I have both been on antibiotics for awhile so I guess it shouldn't have been too big of a surprise.  The biggest surprise is that Wyatt hasn't gotten sick at all.  Normally you just look at him and he comes down with an ear infection or a cold!
Wyatt truly is all boy and loves anything cars, trucks or sports.  He often goes out and hits balls off the t-ball stand we got for Jack (who really could care less about it).  The other day, Ethan joined in and they had fun playing together.  I just had to watch out and make sure they didn't hit each other (on accident or on purpose) with the stick they were using!

Here is Wyatt, my copycat, sitting on the box the same way Ethan does to watch TV.  I had never seen him do that before and it was so cute.

And here is the king of our castle, looking down amongst his people, taking stock of everything!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...
