The Last of the Seattle Trip

Here we go, the last of the photos from our Seattle trip...

We got over to visit Grandma Alice and caught her on an especially good day. She enjoyed holding Wyatt while Ethan and Jack played in the room around her. Wyatt really enjoyed his visit with his great-grandmother.

We spent some family time downtown Seattle at the Pike Place Market. It was so nice to visit and enjoy all the goodness it had to offer. I miss the days that I worked within walking distance to the market.

Check out the cool dude fish!

Jack got a hold of the camera and took the photo below. He's getting pretty good at setting up his composition!

Ethan and the Pike Place Market pig!

The boys with some flowers for Nana and Granddad.

I had the pleasure of a girls night with Angie and Janine and her girls. It was nice to have some more time with them and laugh over dinner, as we always do. Plus, Ethan and Wyatt really love Kyla and Morgan.

A couple photos of the boys playing at Nana and Granddad's! They love it here.

We took the boys out for another family afternoon, this time to Alki Beach in West Seattle. It was a beautiful day, if a bit windy. The boys loved playing in the sand and burning off some energy.

Auntie Jake had the joy of introducing Seahurst Park in Burien to Jack one afternoon. It was another beautiful Seattle day and we had to DRAG Jack away. The two of them had so much fun looking for sea glass and exploring up and down the beach.

I love these photos of Ethan and Nana!

We spent an afternoon with Grandma Christy and Uncle Spencer at a pumpkin farm filled with lots of cool stuff....

Can you see how big those truck's tires are? Jack is standing right in front of one.

Look up and you'll see goats walking along the goat skywalk. It was so cool to see.

Hayride....

Ethan hanging out in a barn full of corn kernels. He made a friend or two.

Below is some time spent with Uncle Jason and Aunt Delly.

We spent another afternoon with Nana, Uncle Jason and Aunt Delly at another corn maze.

Jack had great fun leading the way through the maze trying to find the locations to punch holes in the map to show we made it.

We had such a great trip, spending time with great friends and all our family. It's hard living so far away from you all but it sure makes coming back for visits lots of fun.

Hopefully we can get you all out here for more visits too!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...
