Trip to Seattle and Ethan's Birthday

Friday before we left for Seattle we had a playdate with two other mom's with Down syndrome kids in the area. One is a couple months younger than Ethan and the other is about 6 months older. The older one had a brother Jack's age, which makes it fun for him!

As you can see, the kids had a blast playing!

Saturday was the big trip up to Seattle. We met my mom at the airport and then we all traveled back together. It was so nice to have an extra set of hands as Ethan was very wiggly and I was very uncomfortable in my seat. But it was a successful trip and the boys were very happy to make it to Nana and Granddad's house. We're still trying to get on west coast time but we're having fun.

Sunday morning Jack decided to read the paper before breakfast. Then he had fun "making tea" for everyone with Nana's teaset. He asked Nana what kind she wanted and she requested French Vanilla. He thought about it for a second and said, "a little bit of vanilla and some french fries!" It was the cutest thing ever.

Ethan's been having fun playing with all the new toys and climbing up and down the stairs.

Jack helped Nana get ready for our family birthday party for Dad and Ethan by vacuuming the floors. Then we enjoyed the afternoon with Grandma Alice, Uncle Jason, Aunt Delly, Auntie Jake, Uncle Eddie, Grandma Christy, Uncle Spencer and Anna.

This is Jack playing with Marco. The boys love the cat and he has really taken to them. Ethan has been crawling around the house following him.

Ethan got a few presents but he had much more fun with the tissue paper!

At the end of the evening, Jack and Ethan sat and watched a bit of Star Wars with Uncle Jason on his iPhone.

Monday, we headed over to visit Grandma Alice at her new home. The boys really enjoyed checking out the new place. Jack had fun exploring all the nook and crannies and trying on the old hats and gloves.

Now we're enjoying just spending some time at home playing. We'll be heading over to Grandma Christy's tonight for dinner and then the next couple of days we have some fun day trips planned -- The Pacific Science Center and The Seattle Aquarium.

Hope to post pictures again on Friday when we have a quiet day.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...
