Back To It...

Sorry I've been absent this past week. Ethan's Medicaid renewal is up and I got the paperwork on Monday -- due this Saturday. So I've been busy collecting all the paperwork and getting the doctor to sign off on it all. Luckily we have a new pediatrician that was VERY helpful and quick to get the stuff back to me (an hour as opposed to almost a week at our last ped.). But I got it all sent off today so I feel sooooo much better. Now I can focus on our upcoming trip to Seattle and Phoenix -- leaving next Saturday.
As you can see from these photos, we got a bit of snow last week. We didn't get enough to play in but Jack still had fun with it. Mostly we just got a cold spell. We didn't get above the 20s for almost a week. Over the weekend, with the windchill factor, it felt like between 0 and 5 degrees. Brrrr.
Ethan and I tried to stay warm inside. Ethan found lots to amuse himself with, as you can see from the pictures below.

As Ethan was playing in the kitchen while I was unloading the dishwasher he found his way inside. I turned around to put something away and then turned around to see this. I had to grab the camera. And then encourage him to get off before he broke it! He cracks me up almost everyday. I love seeing his little personality shine through.

Jack is my bigger helper these days. He loves to play in the kitchen too, but he prefers to "wash the dishes." Although I think he washes more than just the dishes. But it keeps him happy and occupied for at least a half an hour, so it's worth it. Plus, one day this will actually be one of his chores, so I might as well encourage it while he still thinks it's fun.

Ethan had a big week with PT. He recently started cruising along the furniture so we started rearranging the boxes to get him to walk around the corners and turn around from one box to another. And to our surprise, he did it all without any problems. Kris, our therapist, said the turning from one box around to the other was really rather difficult so she was really pleased to see how well he was doing. I'm optimistic that he will be walking before this next baby comes!

Ethan really looks like a big boy in these pictures. I can't believe he'll be two years old on the 25th!

Jason comes home tomorrow for a three day weekend and then the boys and I will be heading up to Seattle (and then down to Phoenix) for a couple weeks next Saturday. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone but am being challenged by packing for a cold weather and warm weather location on the same trip. But I'm really looking forward to a few days in Phoenix to warm up!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
